European Justice Court, Luxembourg


The Court of Justice of the European Communities ensures equality in the application and the interpretation of Community law of the various EU State Members.
The European Court of Justice (as is normally referred to) is the highest court in the European Union. It was established in 1952 and is based in Luxembourg.
The Court has competence to rule on applications for annulment or actions for failure to act brought by a State Member or an institution, actions against State Members for failure to fulfil obligations, prejudicial adjournments and appeals against decisions of the Court of First Instance.
